Youth Intervention Specialist

Prince of Peace Center is excited to implement a new youth mentorship program this fall and we
are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Intervention Specialist to join our Family Supportive Services team!
This full-time position offers benefits and the opportunity to play a key role in empowering local male youth
in grades 7-12 by providing mentorship, educational support, life skills, and positive male influences.

Key responsibilities:
  • Manifest the Mission of Prince of Peace Center in all duties and interactions
  • Play a key role in implementing the Q Academy program working with students, parents, mentors and school officials
  • Provide mentoring and educational support to male youth, focusing on fostering positive development in a classroom setting
  • Assess students individually by maintaining accurate and detailed records
  • Oversee male mentors to lead discussions based on program lesson plans
  • Assist in coordinating volunteer, job shadowing and job placement opportunities for Q Academy students
  • Assist in coordinating field trips and special events for summer programming of Q Academy students

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Evaluating and assessing clients through Emergency Services for rental and utility assistance
  • Empower clients and students through knowledge of skills, resources, and experience
  • Input data of crisis clients and Q students
  • Assist with AWESOME classes as needed
  • Increase awareness of Family Supportive Services through public speaking engagements
  • Schedule and maintain appointments with clients while balancing Q Academy responsibilities
  • Facilitate and participate in collaborations with community agencies, service providers, and businesses representing Prince of Peace in a professional manner

Qualifications:
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Required Current Child Abuse and Criminal Background clearances
  • Proven ability to engage and connect with youth
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple aspects of the program
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree and previous experience working with youth preferred
