Eligibility for Crisis Intervention Services

Am I eligible for assistance?

Crisis Intervention is open to Mercer County Residents.

  • Some exceptions may be made for Northeast Ohio residents due to proximity.

  • If there are similar emergency or crisis services available in your area, those services must be accessed first (e.g., Greenville Residents may be able to utilize Good Shepherd Center or Greenville Salvation Army for assistance first; Stoneboro residents may utilize Helping Hands).

  • Be prepared to provide the following when requesting assistance: proof of identity, proof of income, a signed declaration statement of need as well as proof of requested need.

Eligibility Questions…

The Center’s Crisis Intervention program may be able to assist you if you can answer YES to at least THREE of the following questions:

1.    Does my emergency pertain to a housing need, such as rent, mortgage, or utilities?

2.    Do I have an eviction notice or termination notice for my rent/utility?

3.    Can I provide proof of income?

4.    Do I have the resources available up front to pay the remaining balance of the bill if the Center contributes $100.00?

5.    Is this the first time I have applied for assistance through the Center’s Crisis Intervention program? (We typically offer crisis assistance one time per person; some exceptions may be made at the discretion of our crisis assistance team.)

If you answered YES to any three of the above questions, please fill out the form below and we will contact you about applying for Crisis Assistance.
